The Pinky Violence Collection (DVD)
Four films of over-the-top violence, kitschy appeal, and overt sexuality, THE PINKY VIOLENCE COLLECTION features tough, strong protagonists who get their way no matter what it takes. CRIMINAL WOMAN: KILLING MELODY is an installment in the Zero Woman series, and follows Maki (Reiko Ike) as she exacts bloody revenge for her father`s death on Oba Industries. DELINQUENT GIRL BOSS: WORTHLESS TO CONFESS features the sweet and ultra-sexy Reiko Oshida as the leader of five street girls who take to the streets. It`s a go-go dancing delight, as her crew of fashionista gangsters wreak havoc in the midst of a `60s Japanese pop culture melee.
Another oddity, GIRL BOSS GUERILLA sees a gang of hot biker chicks rolling into town, instigating a spate of turf wars, as well as some close friendships and hot romance. Finally, HIGH SCHOOL: LYNCH LAW CLASSROOM is pure terror, as mean high school girls battle it out in reform school. Fans of Takashi Miike will appreciate the bloodletting scene that occurs even before the opening titles roll!

Set in a small Californian town just after the vicious killing of several innocent people, this psychological thriller begins with the arrival of FBI agent Cheryl Hammer (Cheryl Pollack). Pegging these crimes on a mysterious serial killer, Cheryl needs help to get on the criminal mastermind`s track. When the police prove to be little assistance, Cheryl looks to Jack, the father of a girl who was murdered by similar means some 10 years before. With Jack on her side, Cheryl then seeks out a priest who may be able to shed some light on the connection between the killer`s motives and the Biblical concept of being punished for one`s sins. When one more girl turns up missing, it becomes a race against time to stop the killer before another death occurs.

Based on Rex Stout's series of detective novels, A&E's original series brings the curmudgeonly, agoraphobic private eye to life. Nero Wolfe (Maury Chaykin, BEING JULIA, A LIFE LESS ORDINARY) is not like other private eyes, preferring to remain within the confines of his New York brownstone, indulging in gourmet meals and tending to his extravagant orchid garden, rather than pounding the pavement. He makes his money--and quite a lot of it--by solving mysteries from home, making him the quintessential armchair detective; the legwork is done by his assistant, Archie Goodwin (Timothy Hutton, BEAUTIFUL GIRLS, 5IVE DAYS TO MIDNIGHT). Street-smart and charming, the dapper Archie can handle any situation but is ultimately guided by the near-omnipotence of his employer's genius. Goodwin supplies the narration of the show, with voice-over that captures the essence of the hard-boiled novels perfectly. This collection is comprised of all the episodes from season two, including Die Like a Dog, Poison a la Carte, Help Wanted, Male, and Immune to Murder.
