The sequel to the racing smash THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS may not have Vin Diesel as its star, but it burns with even higher octane than its predecessor, and a whole lot less extraneous drama. Back in action is undercover cop Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) whose career has hit the skids since he let Diesel's character escape at the last film's end. He has sunk in status and is now a fringe dweller on the Miami street racing scene. A chance at redemption arrives when the fuzz recruits him to investigate Carter Vellone (Cole Hauser), a top-dog street racer with dangerous drug connections. O'Connor recruits his bickering childhood pal (model/singer Tyrese), now a nitro-burning ex-con from the Diesel school of toughness, to help him pull the bad guys to the curb with a tire-spinning vengeance.John Singleton (BOYZ IN THE HOOD, HIGHER LEARNING) directed, and obviously had great fun delivering, a straight-up racing thriller that's free of the message-bearing pressure of being a John Singleton film. 2 FAST fairly roars off the screen with comic book exuberance and a cheerful disregard for anything that gets in the way of its forward momentum. Best of all is Tyrese, a natural, laid-back star--he's not afraid to poke fun at his own shirtless model-boy image and amply compensates for the mighty Vin's absence. Rapper Ludacriss is also memorable as O'Connor's mechanic, as is model Devon Akoi as a cute female racer.

The stop-motion animation by legendary special effects maestro Ray Harryhausen comprises some of the most complex, technically proficient, and visually stunning in film history, and have more than withstood the test of time. Here, he finds himself up against a one-eyed centaur, a griffin, the giant Minoton, a Cylcops, a saber-wielding skeleton, and a fire-breathing dragon, among many other terrifying creatures that are simultaneously awe-inspiring in their presentation. Finally, Harryhausen brought to life Jonathan Swift's classic tale of GULLIVERS TRAVELS in THE 3 WORLDS OF GULLIVER. This awesome fantasy is both a captivating story and a visual treat. Stephen Norrington's THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN begins in 1899 London where, due to some cataclysmic events in England and Germany, the world is on the brink of war. Mycroft Holmes (Richard Roxburgh) is sent by the British government to round up various figures from Victorian-era literature in an attempt to find some solution. First on the list is explorer Allan Quatermain (Sean Connery), quickly installed as leader of the ramshackle outfit. Among the plethora of mythical figures joining Quatermain are The Invisible Man, Captain Nemo, Jekyll and Hyde, Dorian Gray, and many others. Initially the League are sent to Prague to prevent a series of bombs from exploding, causing some spectacular set pieces as the merry band of rogues use all their special skills to fend off the evil forces. This is only the start of their journey however, and there are plenty of surprises for these courageous battlers, not least when they discover who is really behind all the chaos they have tried so hard to control.Working with material from comic book veteran Alan Moore (who also penned FROM HELL), director Norrington (BLADE) draws on some interesting traits and legends from his characters, such as Dorian Gray's painting and Dr. Jekyll's potion. Making sure each member is far from infallible, Norrington paints a sympathetic portrait of flawed heroes battling against the odds, with some spectacular action sequences, and humorous asides.

During World War II, simple Norwegian fisherman Erik Toresen (Paul Muni) finds his pieceful village under siege by the Nazis. After an elderly villager is tortured by the invaders, Toresen mobilizes the members of his community villagers and leads them on their way to becoming a fierce troop to be reckoned with. Once the Nazis catch on to Toresen's ways, he escapes to England with four of his fellow countrymen in order to lead British troops against the Germans, who are headed for the Arctic supply lines. The psychological thriller THE I INSIDE features the uncertainty and anxiety of time-traveling and amnesia films such as THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT and MEMENTO. Ryan Phillippe stars as Simon, who awakens in a hospital with no memory of the last two years. When he discovers that his brother Peter (Robert Sean Leonard) is dead and that he is married to Anna (Piper Perabo), a woman he has no recollection of, he sets out to discover what has happened to him and why he cannot remember it. Both helping and frustrating his investigation is the fact that he seems to be shifting back and forth between the present and the time before his memory loss.
