Young Thugs: Innocent Blood (DVD)

Set in director Takashi Miike's hometown of Osaka and somewhat autobiographical, YOUNG THUGS--INNOCENT BLOOD is a coming of age story that contains the gratuitous amount of blood and violence characteristic to the work of the auteur. True to its title, however, it retains an emotion and innocence that sets it apart from much of Miike's oeuvre. Three friends rob their teacher on the last day of school and set out to find their place in the world. Ryoko becomes employed by a hair salon, while his two friends find careers in law enforcement, of sorts. This fast-paced thriller was based on a novel by Toshikazu Nakaba, and is followed by a sequel, YOUNG THUGS--NOSTALGIA.DVD Features:Region 0Keep CaseAnamorphic WidescreenAdditional Release Material: Exclusive Interview - 1.
